Throw Back Field Day!

Pictures of Field Days Past!

<--- Our original operating station, Bill's Camper 1992

While cleaning out in preparation for construction, I found a bunch of old Ham Radio pictures that I thought might interest BHRG members and friends.  I started doing Field Day in 1979 with my Elmer, Larry, WA1EPL, and the Blackstrap Repeater Association before I was licensed!  1981 was the last one I did with BRA.  The '82 & '83 Field Day operations were sponsored by the Sandy River ARC.  Several participants of the Sandy River Field Day operations formed the Bass Hill Repeater Group.

If anyone has Sandy River or BHRG pictures or information to share please pass them along for inclusion here!

Field Day 1981
Paul was with the Blackstrap Repeater Association, K1ME, Field Day in Otisfield, ME.  Note the use of extension ladders as towers.
Field Day 1982 - Sandy River ARC
Center Hill in Weld ME.  2a operation with a Novice Station and a Satellite Station.   Silent Key Eric Edler, K1PV, set up the satellite station.  I don't remember if we ever made a satellite contact!
Field Day 1983 - Sandy River ARC
Back to Center Hill for FD '83  This operation features Pete's (K1HZU - N1BCE at the time) portable tower.  The last picture is Pete's tower as it is now in my back yard!  This may have been the last year at Center Hill...??
Field Day 1984? - Sandy River ARC

Again on Center Hill, these are from Rusty's, KY1E, archives.  I believe these are from 1984...??
Field Day 1992
Bill's camp, 1a, Paul's beam (TH33JRS), dipoles for 40 & 80, Bill's old Coleman popup camper, and an old Onan1600 watt generator.  The generator came out of the old Civil Defense truck that Rusty and I cleaned up for Franklin County Civil Emergency Preparedness.  In recent years, Dennis Pike has driven the old truck in parades.
We did Field Day at Bill's camp for several years in the late 80's early 90's, but I only have pictures of this one.
